Before FedEx and today’s overnight delivery services, shipping merchandise by air was still a developing business.

In 1932, General Air Express was established by several American airlines to compete with the Railway Express Agency (REA). By February 1936, the industry was consolidating its air express services under the Railway Express Agency, creating a more coordinated nationwide delivery network.

This original 1938 Air Express sales brochure dates to that remarkable period when air transportation was transforming the way American businesses shipped their goods.
